Is it arrogant of me to start this blog? By the mere fact of me starting it, am I assuming that people will actually be interested in reading about me and hearing what I have to say? How about you, if you are reading this, you must have come to my blog for a reason. Are blogs a narcissistic outlet, or simply a forum for friends to get to know you better and a place where conversations can be had? I suppose it is too early in my blogging career to answer this question, or perhaps it is just too late at night.
But I do pose a question: Why do people have blogs?

Yay! I'm sooooo happy you have a blog!! After table tennis and cross eyed pictures its the best thing God every invented.
Alright, I'll answer this one (hitches up her pants a bit with an old man sigh).
I think that people start blogs for different reasons. For some I'm sure it is kind of narcissistic. It's free, self-generated publicity, after all, and handled in the right way it could lead to some kind of fame. But I bet we'd be surprised that that's a smaller percentage (and probably comprised of high school students, no offense to the high school bloggers out there). I think a lot of people who blog do it because they enjoy writing (that's why I do it) and want to share their ideas (also why I do it) and get practice writing (also why I do it!) It's also a good way to stay in touch with people, such as we are doing right now!
